I hate Adian. Ohhhhhh. How infuriating this book was. And Adian was the cause of all of it. He is a whiny, pathetic, annoying little prick. I just wanted to bash him with a rock. Of all of the books I've read in this series I've only hated 2 valorions, but Adian by far is the one I. Want. Dead. I've never hated anyone as much as I hate this character. The entire story is made worse and worse by him. The constant whining, the constant flip-flopping. Ugh. I just hate so bad that the poor eagle lord is stuck with him, he deserves better. Had the goddess been proven any more wrong the land would have caught fire. I wanted to throw my phone so bad reading this drivel. Adian is an SOB which doesn't deserve anything. I’ve been enjoying this series and was so excited to read this one too. But I stopped at 22% in. The series has always had a high content volume of talk about their goddess. Okay. It’s fiction. No biggie. Unfortunately, this go round, the main character is struggling with what is quite obviously Christianity. And there’s talk of God and “Saeten” every other page. Honestly, it just kept taking me out of the story. Also, not all Christians are raging homophobes so it’s pretty irritating that that’s about the only aspect of this world’s Christianity that the author has seen fit to include.Anyway, I’ll try the next one and hope she’s scaled back the religion by then.
